you can use the supplied A/V connecting cable (composite video) and then connect this to a standard USB video grabber (including audio).

I assume standard web-meeting software like Skype or Windows Live Messenger will recognise the video/audio as input signal.

you can check in the task manager (press CTRL+STRG + DEL) which program or process is still running.

For example you can check in the processes tab for the "PMB Voulme Watcher" and terminate this tool which is installed by Picture Motion Browser / Play Memories.

You should be able to mount the ECM-CG50 directly on the Multi Interface Shoe of the camcorder.

The supplied adapter is needed for mounting it on an Alpha camera with iISO shoe (Auto Lock Accessory Shoe).

You connect the cable form the microphone to the MIC in opn the left side of the camcorder.

the ECM-XYST1M will fit directly on the Multi Interfaces shoe on the camcorder (HDR-CX410). However, when connecting the ECM-XYST1M only with MI shoe, manual Audio record level setting will not be available.

If you want to manually set the audio record level you will need to connect the ECM-XYST1M using the supplied MIC out cable and plug it to the MIC in on the camcorder. Of course the ECM-XYST1M can stay attached on the MI shoe.

when activating the night shot (plus) function an infrared filter is removed from the sensor so that more "invisible" light is captured and the camera is capable of recording movies in nearly dark places. However - to increase sensitivity - it also switches to a black and white mode.

If night shot mode was accidentally enabled during recording all your footage will show this effect and you can not fix this really in postprocessing.

I wonder why nobody has noticed the wrong setting during recording. The night shot effect is shown on the live image on the camera of course....

They are definelty fake.

No AA cell offers 3800mAh capacity.

The max capacity of current Sony batteries is 2700 mAh.

for creating the HDR image the camera actually takes 3 images and merges them into a single image which contains a wider dynamic range in regard to the contrast of the scene. One image captures the details in the shadows, one in the highlights and one is the "normal" exposure, capturing the midtones.
The camera then merges the 3 exposures into a single image to bring out both the details in the shadwos and the highlights.
By default the camera saves this HDR image AND the image which was taken with the standard exposure setting.
This can not be changed, so you will always have the two versions of the same scane: One HDR image and one with the standard exposure.
This has following benefits:
Depending on the EV-settings for the HDR mode the HDR-processing can have a very strong effect and sometimes produce an "artifical" or "surrealistic"look" (which is often what HDR photographers want). Therefore to have a choice after the capture process the camera also saves the standard image which is not HDR processed. You can compare both versions and decide which one looks better.
Furhtermore, as the HDR capture process consists of merging 3 images which have been taken in sequence at different instants of time artefacts can occur when the image contains moving subjects. The merging algorithm is capable of suppressing this kind of "ghosting" artefacts in many cases but the effect can not be avoided at all times. Therefore to have a "backup" of an image which has been taken in standard mode of the same scene is very good in my opinion.

could you post a sample image? Have you tried a different lens?

Does the camera give the "focus confirmation" beep (and green AF indicator lights up) after half pressing the shutter?

you can only playback the movies that were shot with the camera. it is not possible to play back video files created by other applications e.g. with video editing.

Only the latest handycam lineup with build in projector also feature a HDMI INPUT to connect latop etc.

A flash is included, it can be mounted on the camera (same as on previous Nex cameras). Of course a battery too and an USB cable. You can charge the battery inside the camera via USB.

use the infrared remote RMT-DSLR1
use the infrared remote RMT-DSLR2 (same as 1 but supporting video recording start/stop)
use the new cable remote RM-VPR1
use the remote control software for computer

Sony offers some extension cables for the flash cables but usually you only should combine a maximum of 4. This is

a.) too short
b.) getting expensive....

You will have to use 3rd party radio trigger like this one mentioned before. They say they are working on a compatibiltiy update to support SLT 77 and alike

I would look for some (3rd party) LCD hood for the NEX-6. I do not know if someone already offers it but for other NEX cameras they are available at low cost (around 10 €).

The eyepiece hood for the EVF on the NEX-6 is not perfectly suitable for people wearing glasses and when using the EVF in bright light outdoors.

the OLED can not reproduce the high contrast of a sunlight scene outdoors and therefore the impression will vary compared when looking through an OVF. I found however that the NEX-6 OVF is one of the best EVF currently on the market, so we have to wait for more improvements in regard to dynamic range in future EVF technology.

Make sure you are using the eyepiece cup to block straylight out of the viewfinder.

I know this service option, which is located in Germany. They have specialized in modification of DSC cameras (removing IR/UV/LowPass filter).

the HDR-CX105 does not support any kind of USB streaming.

If you want to use the camera like a PC cam you can use an analogue video grabber (e.g. a special video capture card or an external grabber, which is usually connected to the USB port) and connect the analogue audio/video output of the handycam to it.

from a video quality point of view the difference will not be that big but the CX740 clearly has the edge in terms of manual features. A viewfinder is also important when shooting a lot outddors in bright light and also the LCD has much higher resolution.

Both share the excellent and unique Balanced Optical Steady Shot which is undoubtly the best on the market but the CX410 has a longer zoom range which is the main benefit, besides the price.
