after all i had to do it 3 times in order to work!!!i mean all the procedure of installing the sony utilities!still the volume indications with green colour on the screen dissapeared but they work normally!so be patient with the procedure,thanks

after i made a succesful system recovery i noticed that my fn button is not working so i cant use the utilities of the screen buttons!also ths S1 and S2 buttons are not working!!!from a previous thread i had to install some utilities 4 in number and few restarts...but the point is i didnt solve nothing!my fn button is still non functioning!what can i do further?thank you

i thought i had a problem with my G520A so i made a firmware update from a japan site of vaio of course from GFS1 to GFS3 so since then everytime i start up it prompts me to install the correct drivers for the harware!in my device manager i see everything ok and i burn just fine,what can i do?

i found from another user the updrate of drivers from GFS1 to GFS3 i did it and after i restart it keeps asking me the drivers of the DVD,i made a rest
ore point but nothing was corected so now it keeps asking me for the drivers!how can i find them since they are nowhere in the net!thanks

my FE-21B is copying just fine with any copy soft i used like nero 6,7,shampoo,NTI platinum etc.the problem is that when i tried to view my data on my dvd player like i was doing in the past it says cd,dvd cannot read.so i am thinking or a setting in dvd rom is not ok or when my soft finalise the cd or dvd doesnt make them compatible for all dvd players!any suggestion on this?by the way other pc read fine my data copies!thanks

i own the FE-21B and i burn perfect dvd\cd using multiple softs cause lately i faced this issue with the data cd\dvd.my data dvd are not readable in other dvd players,my audio instead and dvd movies that i burn are playing perfectly!i face this problem for my jpeg and mp3 datas!if can someone help me on this,thanks!

i was interesting in buying a pcmcia tv tuner the AVERMEDIA AVER TV FM PCMCIA HYBRID ANALOGUE TV & DVB-T CARDBUS.i read in a site that Not suitable for the NEW Express Card 34mm wide slots on some new laptops. Please check that you have a standard Cardbus (PCMCIA) 53mm slot before purchase.i think my FE-21B has the 34mm slot,so it doesnt support most of the types of tv tuner?thank you in advance

Please go to Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager and click on + beside IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
this will pop down a list of 3 devices.
Right click on Primary IDE Channel and go down to properties.
Click on the Advanced Settings tab at the top.
You will have two Devices. Device 0 and Device 1.
Please insure that the transfer mode for both is set to DMA if available.
Also check that the current transfer mode is set to one of the ultra DMA modes.
Some of these options might not be available, that's ok, please move to the next step.

Once you have these changed click on the drivers tab at the top and click on the uninstall button near the bottom of this page.
Click on the OK button on the next window.
The unit will ask you if you want to restart the unit.Click on Yes.

The unit might ask you to restart the unit again once it has boot on.

As i post other times and i saw also other posts from guys with the same model,we face slow burning speeds of 2 hours for DVD and 15 minutes for CD!i post my problem to sony e-support and the advises that gave me was that i have to burn only DVD-R and only with roxio soft!!i explained them that before doing the rescue procedure i followed DVD+R and i copied with nero 6 and it was working super!i told them that might be firmware or some update cause the DVD rom is working perfect and it doesnt show any mistake!if someone can give a solution to this issue that many guys suffer can post it here!thank you once again

i think the good thing is the buttons to be replaced in a easy way and not to be opened!i couldnt believe that they used such a crap material!!!

i had the same problem!i couldnt believe the place so cheap buttons and they got scratched without even being forced!really unbelievable situation!i dont think they can be changed!!!if you find out something please announce me

i faced same problem and last days i made a update of firmware on a sony ericsson store!now my k800i it can be seen from my FE-21B as a hard disk!i also used another soft called my phone explorer which is much better then sony soft!try to update your k800!

it seems i face the same problem!i post another time this issue and keelo told me will ask the sony link!it happened to me after i made a recovery operation!my copy speed is 2 hours for a DVD!i own also FE-21B!!!if you find out something please contact me as well,thanks

after i recover my sony vaio FE21B from a faulty action i recieve low burning speeds!i am using nero soft version 6 and for a DVD+R burn data i made amost 2hours with speed 8X!for a CD copy of data i did almost 15minutes using the speed of 24X.is something faulty with my sony recorder?thank you
