I can see that my VGX-XL100 has video inputs - yellow white and red, both on the front panel and at the back - but I can find no explanation of how to select those inputs in the XL100 manual, or in Microsoft's Media Center software. I just want to use my Media Center PC screen to watch my PS2 on - it ought to be so simple!

From memory those inputs hang off one of the standard Sony cards, either the Avermedia or nvidia card. I would therefore recommend trying the software of the same name if you're running the original installed XP.

Don't think they were ever accessible through media centre.

Hope this helps. My vaio has changed beyond all recognition, and through ripping out the nvidia card, i've lost all front panel input options.

    Hi andsheph4 and welcome.

These are analogue inputs designed to import analogue audio/video to the Vaio's hard disc for editing and burning to disc using video editing software.

As far as I know, you cannot stream video in full-screen using Windows Media Center as this is based on digital video.  This used to be possible using 'Vaio Zone' and tuning the analogue TV tuner to the AV inputs.

However, even if you could set this up, this is unsatisfactory for gameplay because of the latency in the analogue TV Tuner.

Silly question - but why don't you simply connect the PS2 to the monitor direct?
