many thanks smelly onion now this is more like it! more options on i player, although the browser does not save the desktop setting once closed so we always have to click on the destop version everytime i go on the homepage? anywhere that the setting can be saved maybe
thanks again
godzilla
the bbc homepage does save the desktop version but not the iplayer one. on bbc homepage scroll down to the bottom and click desktop site(not on the browser options but on the webpage). Then itll save a cookie remebering the desktop one, everytime you go on it.
iplayer doesnt work like that due to a lack of this option by the bbc. Maybe in the future they can include a set of advance settings in the browser to allow you to automatically force desktop pages you specify.
well, first impressions are good. two big things for me have been the increase, or rather lack of, use of the battery. it seems to have better efficiency . also- and this was a big bug bear for many after buying their tablet- the wifi connection now seems resolved. I like many others had a problem with the wifi initially , then I started to use my sensation xe as a wireless tether, now everything is tickety-boo! some changes, better in my view, with the layout- although where has the screen selection gone when long pressing any of the screens... I did prefer this option. have fun all.
well done with adding the mail, but then whythis wasn't included in the first was a bit of a puzzler to me. does anyone know how, or indeed if at all possible, to change the automatic shortcut touch at the bottom of the screen layout? I would like yo be able to add my own regularly used shortcut as opposed to those provided.
Found that that the seeded keyboard does not work with
Chrome Beta, whenever I type anything it gets duplicated and if I use the
backspace key it all gets duplicated again.
I haven’t tried downloading another keyboard and seeing if that makes a
difference.
To try this open Chrome and say select Google Search, start
typing into the search field and then use the backspace key – what happens???
One of the features of ICS was the ability to disable apps
you did not want to run. It seems that
this feature is missing from the Sony build of ICS, I wanted to disable ‘Reader
by Sony’ which always seems to be
running but when I went to disable it the only options I had were force stop
and uninstall updates, no disable option ![]()
Anything else missing??
What's the deal with the Widgets tray's white background though? Is that a Sony thing? It makes white widgets, like the analogue clock, almost invisible. See attached screenshot.
Btw, native screenshotting is awesome! ![]()
chrome is no good. doing some benchmarks on it, its quick, about 20% faster than the already fast stock browser and even faster than the ipad 3 browser but it just feels jerky, glitchy etc + no flash.. not a huge fan of the app screen. not sure why they couldnt allow to use the live wallpaper as the background to the app screen. and the small apps ir control needs work, needs more buttons.
