Can't run Recovery Discs

Fitted new hard drive. Tried to run Recovery discs but following message appears.

Device Name MSCD000 No Valid CD ROM drive found

HELP!

Hi Bucholly,

Which model Vaio do you have?

Are you booting the machine with recovery disk 1 already in the CD/DVD drive?

If you tap F2 at boot to enter the BIOS settings is the CD/DVD drive recognised and set as the first boot device?

Try a system repair in Safe Mode.
