KDL40S2010 TURNING ITSELF ON AND OFF

Hi, yesterday I connected an external aerial to my 5 year old KDL40S2010, to see if I can get freeview. After I disconnected the aerial the TV now turns itself off and then back on again approx every 10 seconds whilst making a clicking noise from the back of the set. I have tried unplugging the set from the mains (overnight) but its still the same. there are no lights flashing on the front of the set. Can anyone help please.

    I have the same problem with my 32". It is just 2 years old.  The remote does not work during this etither.

    I know that the TV is OK except for this. Frustrating

    It looks like a hardware problem on your TV. This usually happens if you have your TV for more than a year. Have it checked just to be sure.

    Hi,

     

    i know this sounds odd but have you tried removing the remote batteries or even changing them?
