Connecting HD receiver to RDR-HXD 870

I have RDR-HDX870 and want to connect my new HD receiver through it to enable HD recording - is this possible? every time i have tried, the DVD channels work but can't seem to swith to HD reciever input. help!

    Hi djnk74 and welcome.

     

    How are you connecting the HD Receiver to the RDR-HXD870?

     

    I don't think you can record in HD quality as the HXD870 does not have a HD input - just SCART, S-Video and Composite Video.  The HDMI is an OUTPUT only.

    does that mean i can't use HD reciever as default input? been trying but i really can't figure it out.

    What cable are you using to connect the HD Receiver to the RDR-HXD870?

     

    I don't understand how you are grtting the HD Signal from the Receiver into the recorder?
