The X Series Walkman® features a 3 inch OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) touchscreen. Displaying your video at 10,000:1 contrast and in true to life colours, you can expect super bright image playback, faster response times, wider viewing angles and startlingly high contrast. With its thinness, lightness and energy saving potential, the X Series also has a longer battery life for hours of uninterrupted playback. Available in the X series.

S-Master Digital Amplifier

Unique to Sony, S-Master digital amplifier brings you rich, lifelike sound. Our simplified amplifier design gives you high power output and low power consumption. All digital signals are amplified in digital (not analogue) to maintain audio quality and eliminate distortion, jitter and signal errors. So you can turn your music up as loud as you like and still enjoy crystal clear accurate playback. Available in the X series.

Built-in noise cancelling

Integrated Digital Noise Cancelling (DNC) technology blocks out ambient noise without bulky, battery powered headphones. Inside the X Series Walkman®, up to 98% of external noise is reduced. Custom settings include airplane, bus/train and office modes, and you can even plug your player in to enjoy in-flight entertainment. When you're not listening to audio, simply grab some peace and quiet time. Available in the X series.

Studio quality in-ear sound Based on the same technology in professional grade monitor models, EX headphones offer studio quality in-ear sound, total comfort and an easy fit with the least sound leakage. Supplied as standard with some Walkman® models, and available to buy separately, the EX headphones range combines fashion and style with high-end audio for a superior listening experience.

Enhanced MP3 sound quality

Built-in to Walkman® players, Sony Clear Audio Technologies work together to reproduce your music in superb quality. Clear Stereo prevents audio signals leaking from one channel to another. Clear Bass uses ATL (Automatic Level Control) to reproduce rich low frequencies. DSEE restores high frequencies lost due to compression. And our EX headphones ensure no loss of audio quality during playback. Available in the X series.

FM for more listening choice Where other MP3 players need a bolt-on device, Walkman® players in the range feature built-in FM radio for more music variety. Integrating an FM tuner makes it easy to search for your favourite shows, and listen back in great sound quality. Available in the X, S, E and some B series models.

Share your music anywhere

Our first-ever Video MP3 player with built-in Stereo Speakers, the S Series Walkman® lets you share all your music wherever you are. Integrated into a super slim design, built-in speaker grilles sit symmetrically for more balanced audio. You can adjust headphone and speaker volume via separate controls, and enjoy more natural sound reproduction with our unique Digital Linear Phase Speaker system. Available in the S series.
