How to restore image data to the photoframe's internal memory.

  1. Initialize (format) the internal memory before restoring backup image data to the device's internal memory as explained below.

    1. Press the "MENU" button on the remote control or digital photo frame to display the menu, and use the buttons to slect the "Settings" tab. Use the buttons to select "Initialize", and press the "ENTER" button.
    2. Select "Format internal memory" using the buttons, and press the "ENTER" button.
    3. Use the buttons to select "Yes", and press the "ENTER" button.

      The internal memory is initialized (formatted).
    4. The following message is displayed when the initialization of the internal memory is finished. Press the "ENTER" button to close the message.


  2. Restoring data that has been backed up to a computer

    Remove any memory cards that may be inserted into the digital photo frame's memory card slots.

    If you are using Windows.

    Note: The instructions below assume that you are using Windows Vista®. The screen displays in these instructions may vary depending on the operating environment that you are using.
    1. Turn on the digital photo frame

      After a few seconds, the Demo Mode screen shown above is displayed on the device's LCD screen.

    2. Connect the device to computer using a USB cable.

      Check that the device's LCD screen has the following display.

      • See "Connecting to a computer" in the device's Operating Instructions for details on how to connect a USB cable.
      • When you connect a USB cable, some windows on the computer may open automatically. If this happens, please close any open windows.

    3. Double-click and open the desktop folder that contains the image data that has been backed up to the computer.


    4. Open "Computer". Double-click the "Removable Disk" icon that represents the photo frame and open the window.


    5. Click "Select All" from the "Edit" menu at the top of the "New Folder" window that was opened in Step 3.

      All the folders and files in the "New Folder" are selected.

    6. Click "Copy" from the "Edit" menu at the top of the "New Folder" window that was opened in Step 3.


    7. Click "Paste" from the "Edit" menu at the top of the removable disk window for the photo frame that was opened in Step 4.

      The image data that had been backed up to the computer is copied to the device's internal memory.

    8. Disconnect the USB cable after you have finished copying the images.
      Before disconnecting the USB cable from the computer, please perform the following operations. (The same applies to turning off the digital photo frame while the computer is being used.)

      Note: If the USB cable is not removed correctly, the data stored in the recording medium may be damaged.

      1. Right-click "Safely Remove Hardware" on the computer's task tray (usually at the bottom right-hand section of the screen), and click "Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drive(F:)". (*The drive name varies according to the computer's operating environment. (In this example, (F:))

      2. Disconnect the USB cable, or remove the recording medium, after "This device can be safety removed from the computer" is displayed.

    This completes the restoration procedure for Windows computers.


    If you are using a Macintosh

    Note: The screen displays in these instructions may vary depending on the operating environment that you are using.
    1. Turn on the digital photo frame

      After a few seconds, the Demo Mode screen shown above is displayed on the device's LCD screen.

    2. Connect the device to computer using a USB cable.

      Check that the device's LCD screen has the following display.

      Also, check that the "Removable Disk" icon representing the photo frame is displayed on the computer's desktop.

      (The name of the icon may be "Unlabeled", "Untitled", "NO NAME" or some other name.)
      • See "Connecting to a computer" in the device's Operating Instructions for details on how to connect a USB cable.
      • When you connect a USB cable, some windows and applications may automatically open and start up on the computer. If this happens, please close all windows and applications.

    3. Double-click and open the desktop folder that contains the image data that has been backed up to the computer.


    4. Double-click the "Removable Disk" icon on the desktop that represents the photo frame and open the window.


    5. Click the "untitled folder" that was opened in Step 3, and click "Select All" on the "Edit" menu at the top of the computer screen.

      All the folders and files in the "untitled folder" are selected.

    6. Click "Copy 6 items" on the "Edit" menu at the top of the computer screen.

      Note: The number of items in "Copy 6 items" varies according to the number of selected folders and files. In this example, six folders and files have been selected.

    7. Click the removable disk window for the photo frame that was opened in Step 4, and click "Paste items" on the "Edit" menu at the top of the computer screen.

      The image data that had been backed up to the computer is copied to the device's internal memory.

    8. Disconnect the USB cable after you have finished copying the images.
      Before disconnecting the USB cable from the computer, please perform the following operations. (The same applies to turning off the digital photo frame while the computer is being used.)

      Note: If the USB cable is not removed correctly, the data stored in the device may be damaged.

      • Drag the USB disk drive (removable disk) icon to "Trash", and disconnect the USB cable. When disconnecting the USB cable, check that the device's access light is not on.

        Sometimes the file transfer may still be ongoing even though it may look as if it has finished on the computer screen. If you disconnect the USB cable or remove the recording medium during file transfer, the data stored in the recording medium may get damaged.

    This completes the restoration procedure for Macintosh computers.

  3. Restoring data that has been backed up to a memory card

    1. Turn on the digital photo frame


      After a few seconds, the Demo Mode screen shown above is displayed on the device's LCD screen.


    2. Insert the memory card containing the backup image data in memory card slot on the device.

      The images saved on the memory card are displayed on the device's LCD screen.

    3. Set the "Image file size" to "Original".
      1. Press the "MENU" button on the remote or the digital photo photo frame to display the menu, and use the buttons to select the "Settings" tab.


      2. Select "General Settings" using the buttons, and press the "ENTER" button.


      3. Select "Image file size" using the buttons, and press the "ENTER" button.

        Use the buttons to select "Original" and press the "ENTER" button.


      4. Press the "MENU" button to close the menu.

    4. Copy the images from the memory card to the device's internal memory.

      1. Press the "MENU" button of the remote control or digital photo frame to display the menu, use the buttons to select the "Editing" tab, use the buttons to select "Add to album" and press the "ENTER" button.


      2. Use the buttons to select "Add all images", and press the "ENTER" button.


      3. Press the "MENU"button.


      4. Use the buttons to select "Yes", and press the "ENTER" button.

        The image data is copied from the memory card to the internal memory of the digital photo frame.
      5. When copying is finished, the following message appears. Press the "ENTER" button to close the message.

        The number of images copied to each folder is displayed. In this example, 10 images were copied to the 100ALBUM folder.

This completes the restoration procedure to memory card.
