Also, you adjust the volume using the volume button on the receiver instead of using the remote control by following the steps on page 22 here: https://cutt.ly/drjxmg2a And you can learn more about the parts and controls of the amplifier on page 8.

Regarding the 'clunk' noise issue, make sure to follow the steps below and test again:
1. Check that the speakers and device are connected securely.
2. Unplug the amplifier from the mains and plug it back in after 1 minute.
3. Make sure that the connecting cables are not near a transformer or motor.
4. Move your audio device away from the TV.
5. If the plugs and jacks are dirty, wipe them with a cloth slightly moistened with alcohol.

Although the receiver heats up during operation, this is not a malfunction. If you continuously use this receiver at a large volume, the cabinet temperature of the top, side, and bottom rises considerably. To avoid burning yourself, do not touch the cabinet.

Also, you can prevent heat buildup by placing the receiver in a location with adequate ventilation.

Regarding the humming noise, you can follow the steps in page 35 and 36 in the above link. If the issue remains, initialize the receiver to the factory settings by following the steps in page 32 and test again.

Please, make sure of the following:
- If your turntable has a grounding terminal, connect grounding wire.
- If you connect a turntable with a PHONO/LINE switch, make sure that the PHONO/LINE switch on the turntable is set to PHONO.
Alternatively, you can try resetting the device to its factory settings by turning it off and holding the power button for 5 seconds until the word "CLEARING" appear on the screen.

We'd like to highlight that if you have your turntable connected to the stereo receiver and there is severe humming we recommend checking if your turntable has a grounding terminal and we recommend checking (Page 16) on the operating instructions: http://bit.do/fURFb, but if the sound is distorted and you have the turntable connected to the receiver using a PHONO/Line switch, make sure that the PHONO/LINE switch on the turntable is set to PHONO (Page 17) on the operating instructions: http://bit.do/fURFb.
If the severe humming or noise happens when a Bluetooth device is connected, we recommend to make sure that there is no obstructions between the receiver and your Bluetooth device, also check if there is a device that generates electromagnetic radiation, such as wireless LAN, other BLUETOOTH device, or a microwave oven nearby and move it away, also turn down the volume of the connected Bluetooth device.
If the issue persists, you can revert your receiver to factory default settings by checking (Page 32) on the operating instructions: http://bit.do/fURFb
