On paper this appeared to be the perfect camera for me. I mostly take stills but also work for a production company that uses all Sony cameras. So being able to easily match colour with those cameras was a bonus. However the video functionality is just not up to the standard of a professional product. The FX2 cannot switch between PAL and NTSC and is locked to one or the other, so is useless to most professionals who have to provide different standards to different clients. The response from Sony below is out of date. Sony purposefully removed the ability to change between PAL and NTSC frame rates in a subsequent firmware update. (Although their website and marketing material still says it can do both) Even the most basic consumer cameras and all cameras from competing manufacturers can switch between standards, so as much as I like this camera I am returning it and the lenses I bought with it to buy another brand. I imagine the company I work for will no longer be buying Sony cameras if Sony are prepared to render it useless to us with firmware "updates".

I bought this to replace my A7IV, I am a hybrid shooter but I have been getting more video work so I thought it would be better to have one video focused body and one stills(A1). I genuinely feel it was a great move, the interface is much nicer for video and perhaps a little finicky for stills but its also a new layout so Im sure I'll adjust. I primarily use this body on a tripod so any readout speed issues are non existent, the xlr handle with multi track recording is a chefs kiss on top of everything else, all cameras make a good picture these days but in body multitrack with such ease has changed my approach to sound hugely, it feels like a cheat code Ive been missing out on. The eye piece is nice but having it be removable would make this a 5 star review as its a little tight with the handle, that being said its helped on sunny days, Id say its good but not essential. I think this body gets reviewed against the fx3 too much, used alone they are for different creatives but together they would make a great A and B cam for smaller shoots.

Me parece una vergüenza que una cámara e mas de 2.000€ no incluye un manual completo e la cámara. He estado mas de 2 horas buscando este manual por la web y aun no lo encontré. Y me refiero a un manual completo, no un manual de uso rápido

Ero incerto sull'acquisto perchè temevo di prendere un prodotto superato, un sorta di strano mix tra fx3 e a7IV. Nulla a che vedere. Per chi fa fotografia e filmati è perfetta. Il passaggio da movie a still è insostituibile. Tutto il resto va come già sapete.

Compre la cámara este mes de octubre y por ahora muy contento. El visor que incorpora me permite realizar tomar en exterior viendo el encuadre a la perfeccion. El estabilizador dinámico funciona muy bien sobretodo en tomas de seguimiento. Creo eso si, que es un precio excesivo si tenemos en cuenta el recorte de sensor para hacer grabaciones en cámara lenta pero en mi caso no me está condicionado para poder hacerlas ya que la calidad es suficientemente buena en modo APSC.

Gute Kamera, netter Sucher, gute Bildqualität im APS Modus, aber: bei 4K 50p wird das Bildf auf APS-C gecropt, damit verengt sich der Bildwinkel, ggf. Weitwinkel Optik kaufen, 100p nur in HD, Zum Filmen lieber eine FX3, zum Fotografieren besser eine A7 etc nutzen.

So the unboxing was the shock Camera is great but the lack of a certifiefd SONY charging cable is not great. How do I know im using the right one as im plugging straight into the FX2, Sony is assuming im going to buy an additional charger. PLEASE SONY AT LEAST INCLUDE A CABLE.
