Support by Sony (2.2.): Two highly requested features released in Europe
The Support by Sony mobile app as well as your Sony account (My Sony) help you find relevant information such as FAQs, manuals, or firmware updates for your Sony products.
The latest version of Support by Sony (2.2.) comes with two highly requested features and is already available in app stores (Android, iOS). You can now:
- Import your bookmarked products from My Sony to Support by Sony.
- Register the products you bookmarked in Support by Sony to My Sony.
NOTES: Features only available for My Sony in Europe. You cannot register Xperia products to My Sony via the app, or import them from My Sony to Support by Sony via the app.
Bookmark Import (My Sony to Support by Sony)
If you already have registered products on your Sony account, you can now easily import them from My Sony to the Support by Sony app by following these steps:
- Launch the Support by Sony mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Make sure the tab My Products is selected.
- Press the [+] (Plus) icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.
- Select Import from My Sony from the list of options.
- Sign into your Sony account following the on-screen instructions.
NOTE: The bookmark import feature is not a constant sync, but a one-time import.
Express Product Registration (Support by Sony to MySony)
To register the products you bookmarked in the Support by Sony app to your Sony account (My Sony), follow these steps:
- Launch the Support by Sony app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Make sure the tab My Products is selected.
- Select the bookmarked product you want to register to My Sony, (e.g. KD-55AG8).
- Press on the [Three dots] icon in the top right corner of your screen to go to Settings → Register to My Sony.
- If you cannot see the option Register to My Sony, you had already registered this product to My Sony.
- Press Continue when you see the pop-up asking you to sign into your Sony account.
- Sign into your Sony account.
- Press OK to close the confirmation pop-up: ‘Product registration is complete’.
- If your Sony account has any registered products that are not bookmarked on Support by Sony yet, you can also import them at this point by following the on-screen instructions.
