In the LCD screen, white or purple lines appear, or the whole image looks like it is covered with a reddish tint.

This phenomenon may occur when the image contains a very bright subject, such as the sun, spotlight, or a reflected light source. This phenomenon, called smear, is specific to CCD imager technology, and is not a malfunction.
Generally this does not affect the recorded images. However, movies or panoramic images sometimes may be affected. It is recommended not to directly shoot a strong light source such as the sun.
