How to test the speed of your Internet connection
You must have a working Internet connection connected to a computer and use a website to test your connection speed. Your speed may change over time, so the results of your test may not be the same from day to day. For questions about your connection speed, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

The following websites can be used to test your Internet speed.
I want to check my Internet searching or browsing speed
- http://www.speedtest.net
- http://www.pingtest.net [Requires Java to be installed]
- http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest [Offers a variety of tests that may be more suitable for advanced computer users]
I want to check the speed of streaming videos with larger file sizes
- http://performance.toast.net/
NOTE: This speed test tool is powered by Netflix, which measures only the download speed.
NOTE: Where possible, always use a wired connection for best performance. Wireless connections can have ''excellent'' signal strength according to the tests, but still be up to 30-50% slower compared to a Wired connection. This is due to several reasons including radio interference, physical obstructions between devices, and decreasing signal strength with distance. In addition, as more devices communicate on the network simultaneously, its performance will also decrease.
