The free repair service, listed in the announcement below (originally posted on July 14, 2016), for "HAP-Z1ES" and "HAP-S1", will be terminated on July 31, 2020.
Sony will continue to support this product according to our usual rules and regulations for repair service. (Added on Aug 3, 2020)
We are aware that a part of the "HAP-Z1ES" and "HAP-S1" HDD Audio Player systems, which were launched in 2013, may start showing a symptom where a white horizontal line appears on the LCD display after some time, due to a component failure.
Sony will repair the HAP-Z1ES and HAP-S1 HDD Audio Player systems involved, which show this symptom, free of charge. If it's your case, please contact Sony to arrange for your product to be serviced. This free of charge repair will remain available until July 31, 2020.

If you are experiencing this symptom and contact Sony to arrange a repair, you will be asked for the model and serial numbers of your product, so that we can confirm whether your unit is indeed in scope for this free repair programme. Below are some instructions on where to find these numbers:
