Notice of Replacement program for some SD memory cards of SF-M series, SF-M series TOUGH specification, and SF-G series TOUGH specification
Thank you for your interest in Sony products.
We have identified an issue with some SD memory cards from the SF-M series, SF-M series TOUGH specification and SF-G series TOUGH specification.
VSC mode data issue
When using a camera* compatible with VSC mode (Video Speed Class), recorded footage data on the card may be damaged or may have not recorded optimally.
* Cameras compatible with VSC mode with V60/V90.
To address this issue, we are implementing a free replacement program for affected SD memory cards.
Applicable models
You can identify your card using the model number on the front of the card as indicated with a circle in red.
SF-M seriesNote! Applicable cards can be identified only if you see “V60”, “R:277MB/s” and “W:150MB/s” on the front of the card.

How to check if your card is affected
SF-M series
- Identify that you have an applicable card. SF-M series cards can be identified with V60, R:277MB/s and W:150MB/s printed on the front.
- Inspect the back of your card and see if a star mark/asterisk (*) is added on the bottom left corner.
- If YES, your card is not affected by this issue.
- If NO, your card is affected by this issue.

SF-G series TOUGH specification
There are two ways to see if your card is affected by this issue.
1. Inspect the back of your card and see if a star mark/asterisk (*) is added on the bottom left corner.
a. If YES, your card is not affected by this issue.
b. If NO, please see the following step.
2. Inspect the back of your card and see if the alphanumeric code begins with TV or TR.
a. If the alphanumeric code begins with TR, your card is not affected by this issue.
b. If the alphanumeric code begins with TV, your card is affected by this issue

We are offering free replacements for affected SD memory cards from June 18, 2020, until Mar. 31, 2022.
You can request an SD card exchange via the following request forms:
- Great Britain - SD card exchange form
- Ireland - SD card exchange form
- Latvia - SD card exchange form
- Estonia - SD card exchange form
IMPORTANT: We cannot transfer the contents from your affected SD memory card to the replacement card. Please create a backup of your contents to a computer or other storage device before sending the card for replacement.
