You can transfer data from the internal storage to a memory card or by using Files, a file manager application. Depending on your Xperia device, the Files application may be pre-installed on your device. Alternatively, you can also download a third-party file manager app* from Google Play.
To transfer data to an SD card of newer Android versions
Go to Settings → Storage → Transfer to SD
To Transfer data (Media file / Documents) using the files application to an SD card on older Android versions
- Find and tap the Files app . It's sometimes placed in the Other folder on the Applications screen.
- If the device has an SD card, tap the three dots menu→ Show internal storage. If not, go to step 3.
- Tap .
- Tap to browse the internal storage, SD Card (if available) to browse an external memory card or Drive (if available) to access files on your Google Drive.
- Touch and hold a file to highlight it. You can then share the file, or tap and then move or copy the file to another location.
