IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

If you’ve experienced an issue where the Netflix app closes to the Home screen after a few minutes of watching content on your 2021 Google TV, please accept our apologies. To solve this issue, confirm that your TV model is listed in the ‘Affected TV models’ section, then follow the steps in the article.

    Affected TV models

    • X80J, X81J, X82J, X85J, X89J, X90J, X92J, X93J, X94J, X95J, A80J, A83J, A84J, A90J and Z9J Series

Solution: Perform a factory reset and sign in with your Google account during the initial set-up

IMPORTANT: Performing this procedure will remove all customised settings in the TV, including Google account settings, parental lock settings, apps, channels, and wireless network settings.

Follow the steps below to perform a factory reset on your Google TV:

    1. On the remote control, press the  (Quick Settings) button.
    2. Select  Settings.
    3. Select System.
    4. Select About.
    5. Select Reset.
    6. Select Factory data reset.
NOTE: If you want to stop Factory data reset at this step, then select Cancel.
    7. Select Erase everything.
    8. Sign in with your Google account during the initial set-up.

NOTE: While it's possible to enjoy Netflix without a Google account, we strongly advise you to sign in with your Google account during the initial set-up phase following the Factory reset (NOT after completing the initial set-up). You will then be able to add more apps to your Google TV and use all its available features.
