Notice regarding the gradual termination of Sony VAIO updates and downloads
Since the closure of Sony VAIO business back in 2014, Sony has taken it to heart to give continued support to Sony VAIO customers. We have been following Microsoft’s End of Support policies & timelines for the various Windows operating system versions, retiring VAIO downloads & updates for older Windows versions once they no longer were supported by Microsoft.
Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 8.1 – the last Windows version that Sony VAIO computers shipped with – will end on January 10th, 2023. Along with this announcement, Sony will stop offering spare parts, VAIO patches, updates and downloads on the support website and via VAIO Update, starting from March 31st, 2023. If you still wish to download Sony VAIO files for immediate or later use, please do so before March 31st 2023.
