    Before you update

    When upgrading, the unit is needed to have a free space about 350 MB. Please confirm the size from the steps below.

    1. In the Home screen, tap
    2. , and then tap [Settings]
      3. Confirm the available USB STORAGE

    Please transfer all tracks and data from the unit to the computer in advance, since the tracks and data may be lost when upgrading as they are remained on the unit.
    We cannot guarantee in case the tracks and the data are damaged or deleted by this update.

    Install

    1. Disconnect your Walkman from the computer
    2. Prepare for this update by the following steps
      1. In the Home screen, tap , and then tap [Settings] - [Storage]
      2. Tap , then tap [USB computer connection]
      3. Tap [USB storage] to be checked
      4. Tap [Connection settings], then tap [USB auto connection] to be unchecked
    3. The update program download is started by clicking Download button on the bottom of this announcement.
      Following the displayed dialog box, save the NWZ-ZX1_V1_13_002.dmg in your PC
    4. Quit all software running on your PC
    5. Double click the saved NWZ-ZX1_V1_13_002.dmgfile, and work by following displayed massages
      • Connect your Walkman to PC, when "Connect the device to update the software." appears
      • Then tap [Turn on USB Storage](*1) on Walkman screen. The message appears, then tap [OK]
        Note: If (*1) does not appear, swipe the status bar, tap "USB connected" on the notification panel, tap "Turn on USB storage", and then tap "OK"
        • Please do not disconnect the unit from the PC during upgrading
        • During upgrading, USB connection is automatically controlled and "Connecting USB" indication is off with the control. Also, the USB disconnect message may appear on some computers
    6. When the message of completing upgrading is displayed, click Finish button
    7. When lock screen appears on Walkman, then drag (key mark) from left to right
    8. Return [USB auto connection] enabled by the following steps.
      1. In the Home screen, tap , and then tap [Settings] - [Storage]
      2. Tap , then tap [USB computer connection]
      3. Tap [Connection settings], and tap [USB auto connection] to be checked
    After the update

    Please confirm the version when the update program is installed successfully with following The update program installation is succeeded when 1.13 is shown on the screen.
