Notice of free repair program for some CFexpress Type A memory cards of CEA-G Series

Thank you for your interest in Sony products.

Sony has identified an issue with a batch of CEA-G series memory cards. These memory cards may not be recognised or may fail to save images in low-temperature conditions, around -10 degrees Celsius.

Although it is exceedingly rare that your card will experience this issue, you may not be able to use or recover the data from your memory card once it occurs. 

We are offering a free repair program from June 26, 2024 until June 29, 2029 for the affected memory cards to address this.

If your memory card is part of this batch, please get in touch with a Sony Alpha Authorized Service Center within the specified repair period to receive a free repair.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Which Sony Alpha Authorised Service Center do I contact?

It's important to note that not every Service Center is specialised in Sony Alpha technology.

Please use the correct filter when searching for an Authorised Service Center:

1. Go to our Authorised Service Center locator tool.
2. Underneath the search bar, select your product category.
3. Filter on "camera & camcorders" or 'digital cameras' (country dependant).

Back up your memory card if possible

Before sending the memory card for repair, please back up the contents and erase them from the memory card.

All content and data on the memory card will be deleted during the repair process.

You can find the memory card lot number at the bottom on the back of the card.
