If people on the other end of your calls can't hear you clearly when calling via your Sony Car Audio system, follow these steps to adjust the Echo Canceller/Noise Canceller (EC/NC) settings to reduce echo and noise:
1. Check Phone Network Reception
- Ensure that the problem is not caused by poor network reception, either on your end or the correspondent's.
- When driving, it's possible that your phone will switch cell phone towers during your conversation. This might result in dropped calls or sudden audio disconnection issues.
- When this happens, wait until your phone switches to the new tower (you will be able to hear each other again) or disconnect and try calling again.
2. Adjust EC/NC Mode
- During a call, press and hold the MIC button.
- Change the mode to EC/NC-1 or EC/NC-2 to improve sound clarity.
IMPORTANT: The procedure may vary depending on the specific Sony Car Audio model. For detailed, model-specific instructions, refer to the operating instructions supplied with your product.
3. Reduce Surrounding Noise
- Minimize background noise to improve microphone performance.
- Roll up the windows, lower the air conditioner, and reduce other sources of noise inside the car.
By following these steps, you can enhance the audio quality of your phone calls on your Sony Car Audio system.
