I cannot save data on my computer by wirelessly connecting using PlayMemories Home

The camera is connected to an access point (wireless router) but may not be connected to the computer due to the settings or connection status of the computer.

    NOTES:

    • To import images from the camera to the computer by wirelessly connecting, a connection is established via a Wi-Fi access point (wireless router). Images cannot be imported by wirelessly connecting to a Wi-Fi Direct compatible computer directly.
    • The camera and computer must be connected to the same access point (wireless router). Images cannot be imported to the computer if the camera and computer are connected to different access points (wireless routers).
    • PlayMemories Home Ver. 2.0 and later support data import by wireless connection. If you are using a version earlier than Ver. 2.0, update it to the latest version.

    Troubleshooting

    1. Make sure the camera and computer are connected to the same access point (wireless router).

To import images from the camera to the computer by wirelessly connecting, the camera and computer must be connected to the same Wi-Fi access point (wireless router). Check the SSID of the currently connected access point on the camera and computer. If each is connected to a different access point, change either one of the connections.

NOTE: To prevent the connection from being interrupted while importing images to the computer by wirelessly connecting, check the receiver sensitivity and move to an area with stronger receiver sensitivity if the receiver sensitivity is weak.

    2. Update PlayMemories Home to the latest version and check the computer environment.
      1. Check the Wi-Fi import setting status from Tools-Settingsin the PlayMemories Home software.
        1. Select Tools - Settings on the top part of the PlayMemories Home screen to open the Settings screen.
        2. Select Wi-Fi import on the left side of the Settings screen and check the following items.

        3. Make sure Import automatically from devices that connect by MTP over Wi-Fi Import only new files is checked. If not, images cannot be imported by wirelessly connecting.
        4. Make sure green shield icons are displayed by Domain networks(Active) and Private networks. If nothing is displayed for Windows firewall settings, the computer is not connected to the network.
        5. Make sure Started is displayed. If Start is displayed, click it to start the communication service.
      2. Make sure the computer network classification is Private network or Home network. Wi-Fi communications with the camera may not be available with some computer network classifications. Change the network classification by following the procedure below.

      3. Import the images to the computer by wirelessly connecting again. Try to import images to the computer by wirelessly connecting again.
    3. Check your firewall security software and the network settings on the camera.
      1. Deactivate the firewall security software installed on the computer and then check that Wi-Fi importing is enabled. Deactivating the firewall security software may make Wi-Fi importing possible. If it works, configure the settings without interrupting the following ports and then activate the firewall again.
        • UDP port: 1900
        • TCP port: 2869

NOTE: For information on how to deactivate the firewall security software, contact the manufacturer of your security software.

      2. Reset the network-related settings, register the access point, configure the PlayMemories Home settings again, and then check that Wi-Fi importing is available.

        IMPORTANT:

        • Resetting the network related settings will return the access point information and information on computers that can be registered on the camera to the default settings. You will need to set the access point on the camera again and connect the camera to the computer via USB to perform Wi-Fi Import Settings.
        • Resetting the network-related settings also returns the connection information to default for forwarding images taken with the camera to your smartphone or tablet using PlayMemories Mobile and controlling the camera from your smartphone or tablet with the smart remote control function. Reconnect the camera and your smartphone or tablet wirelessly.

NOTE: For details on how to reset the network settings of the camera, how to register the access point, and how to perform Wi-Fi Import Settings, refer to the instruction manuals of the camera.

      3. Turn the access point (wireless router) off and on and confirm that Wi-Fi import is enabled. Disconnect the AC Adaptor from the access point (wireless router) to turn off the power, and then reconnect it to turn on the power again.
