Registering my Touchpad Remote to Sony's Android TV fails

    Follow the steps below to re-pair the remote control.

    1. Remove the batteries from the remote control and reinsert them.
    2. Set Bluetooth settings in Settings to Off, then set it to On again.
      1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select Bluetooth settings in the Network & Accessories category.
      4. Select Bluetooth, then disable the function.
      5. Select Bluetooth again, then enable the function.
    3. If the TV and remote control are paired, unpair them.
      Follow the steps below to check if they are paired.
      1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select Bluetooth settings in the Network & Accessories category.
      4. Check if the device information (ex: SONY TV RC MIC 001) of the remote control is displayed.
        • If the device information of the remote control is not displayed, check step 4 below.
        • If the device information of the remote control is displayed, use the following procedure to unpair.
          1. Select the device information of the remote control.
          2. Select Unpair.
          3. Select OK.
    4. Re-pair the remote control.
    NOTE: There are two types of remote controls referred to in this answer. The microphone mark is printed on both types, as shown in this image.

    If the Remote Control is registered to a different TV, turn off that TV, and then follow the steps below to reregister your Remote Control to the desired TV.

    When using Type A (Touchpad Remote Control), check the following.

    When pairing using the IR Remote control

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. On the IR Remote control, press the HOME button.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Select Touchpad Remote Control settings in the Network & Accessories category.
    5. Select Pair Touchpad Remote Control.
    6. Select Yes.
    7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    When pairing without the use of the IR Remote control

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. On the back panel of the TV, press the INPUT button for 7 seconds.

      NOTE: The following image provides an example of the INPUT button.

    3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    NOTES:

    When using Type B (Remote control that supports voice recognition), check the following.

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. On the IR Remote control, press the HOME button.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Select Voice Remote Control in the Network & Accessories category.
    5. Select Activate the Image button.
    6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    NOTE: Due to the restrictions of Bluetooth Low Energy, when the TV that contains the remote control’s pairing information remains ON, the registration will fail.
